The Nebraska Triumph Drivers All British Meet

The Triumph Drivers are having their annual show and swap meet Sunday, June 18, from noon to 4:00. The event will be at the Ameristar Casino, in Council Bluffs Iowa. Registration will be from noon until 2:00, involves a $5.00 fee, and includes a dash plaque. We have generally supported this event and intend to do again this year. The Lincoln contingent will meet at the Southeast Community College Parking Lot at 10:00 and will leave from there. The route taken will be exclusively on secondary roads.

Who Was Really Fastest?

The Great Race is over and Steve Espelund had been declared the fastest driver in attendance. (Frank Grover and Steve Williams were not there, and Bob Shaw was unable to drive because of a back problem. No one is claiming to be faster than Frank or Steve. The issue with Bob has yet to be resolved.) A direct comparison is not possible, but position by heat and each driver's fastest lap time is posted herein. As they say on the Bud Sheet, this information if for entertainment purposes only!

Heat 1: order of finish and fastest lap time: Steve Espelund, 27.09; Bob Bredwell, 27.38; Dan Forehead, 28.08; Martha Johnson, 28.09, Fred Meier, 28.15; Gary Higgins, 29.06.

Heat 2: order of finish and fastest lap time: Don Petrick, 27.59; Jerry Needham, 28.16; "Mustang"

Marvin Marshall, 28.67; John O'Brien, 28.18; Keith Freeouf, 29.14; John "Crash" Ulrich, 29.14; Matt O'Brien, 32.64.

Lap times in order: 1. Steve Espelund, 27.09, 2. Bob Bredwell, 27.38, 3. Don Petrick, 27.59, 4. Dan Forehead, 28.08, 5. Martha Johnson, 28.09, 6. Fred Meier, 28.15, 7. Jerry Needham, 28.16, 8. John O'Brien, 28.18, 9. Marvin Marshall, 28.67, 10. Gary Higgens, 29.06, 11. John Ulrich, 29.14, 12. Keith Freeouf, 29.55, 13. Matt O'Brien, 32.64.

Speed Indoor Racing is an excellent venue, and the equipment is first class. The races were great fun and we all expect to return next year. We do, however, hope for a few changes. We hope to have more drivers. We may make two classes, 200 pounds and under, and 201 pounds on up. We need more women to take part. There are several capable drivers among women members of FWAHC, and it wouldn't be terrible if she was faster than he was. (Martha thinks it would be great!)

THANK YOU MOSS MOTORS

Once again this year, Moss Motors has been quite generous with their support of the Flatwater Austin Healey All British Show. Moss is also known for the quality of their parts as well as the quality of their service. Please consider this when next you need parts.
