As always, when traveling in a British Car, we meet the nicest people.

Sunday had us on the road early and headed for the Black Hills. We drove through Spearfish Canyon. Saw Mount Rushmore and spent the afternoon in Keystone. We had to wet our whistles and then had yet another prime rib dinner. We stayed in Custer Sunday night. On Monday morning, bright and early, we headed South, home. All was well until Valentine. Steve pulled in next to Marvin, and his car said, I'm tired. It died. The battery went. Again, no problem. Country General was right down the street and the new battery was purchased and we were off. Great! Until O'Neil. Stopping for gas, a nice lady informed us, "Your car is leaking." OopsăIt was the heater. That was OK, I brought a blanket.

The rest of the drive home was uneventful except for a few rain showers and a beautiful rainbow. It's always an adventure traveling in a British car and we've met the most wonderful people.

More Words to Live By?

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either. Just leave me the hell alone.

We are born naked, wet, and hungry. Then things get worse.

No one is listening until you make a mistake.

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

Never test the depth of the water with both feet.

It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

It is far more impressive when others discover your good qualities without your help.

If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of car payments.

BIG WIN (again)
AT HEARTLAND

By Marvin Marshall
and Bob Shaw

The Kansas City MG Car Club sponsored the 11th Annual Heartland MG Regional in St. Joseph, Missouri on June 9th through the 11th. Again, the FWAHC/HMRNP comprised over 15% of the entries!

Ten LBCs formed the caravan from Omaha and Lincoln, to be joined by stragglers the day of the show. The usual lunch stop in Brownville was brief, restorative, and provided a great photo op!

As is our practice, we hauled away our share of awards:

John O'Brien, Sprite; Steve Espelund, MGB; Martha Johnson, Photography; Pat Koch, MGA; Marvin Marshall, MGB; Leo Thietje, MGB; Brian Goldsmith, MGA.

Although the Heartland is an MG event, there are classes for non-MGs as witnessed by John
