The next big event other than Ice Cream on Thursday, April 11, is the Air National Guard Show, April 28 & 29. We have been asked again to display our Little Cars at the show on Sunday. The Air Force Thunderbirds and the Tora!Tora!Tora! group will be there. It was a fun event the last time we were invited. Call Russ Devoe at 402-393-3798 for info or look on your Patrol Calendar of events. Oh, by the way, the Motor Patrol's secretary has been properly punished for putting the wrong date on last month's Fish Friday. Thirty-five of us showed up on the correct date anyway and I thank the Windmill Tavern in Nehawka for putting up with us again. That's all for this month. I think I'll go recount the vote again. You'd think singing a duet of Danny Boy with Jim Danielson would have swayed the election. The Club Solicitor says tough break, I still won. Next year I'm gonna lay off the Guinness. (Well, at least for a while.) Did you hear about the undertaker who closed all his letters "Eventually yours" ? Help a Poor Struggling Public Television Producer!Dr. Danielson, friend, compatriot, and producer for Nebraska Public Television has requested that all in our number check the furthest reaches of our closets to determine whether therein exists an unused overdrive transmission for a 68-75 MGB. He has been searching for the same and would gladly pay a fair price for one to place in his '74 BGT. ![]() |
Congratulations to Tom Turner and Tessa Cox-Turner!
Tom is originally from Newport, Rhode Island. He graduated from Rogers High School in Newport, and then from Penn State where he attended on a Navy ROTC Scholarship. Tom spent 30 years in the Navy as a submariner (rhymes with maritime, not with marine). He came to Omaha to StratCom on a Military assignment. Tessa Cox-Turner was born in Manchester, England. She married a Yank in the Air Force and emigrated when he returned to the states. Tessa graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and teaches at Fort Crook Elementary School. |
