the Super 8 the evenings of July 4, 5, and 6. The 7th we will drive to Red Wing for lunch on the St. James Hotel Veranda overlooking the river, and then drive back towards Iowa. We will drive through Okoboji on the way home and plan to be home sometime Sunday, July 8.

You will find the show information and registration forms later in the newsletter or check their web site at www.MG2001.com. It might be prudent to call the Super 8 at 651-636-8888 to make your reservation.

There had been some talk of going to the Illinois side of the Mississippi River on the trip to St. Paul. However we decided to take that drive at a later date so that those who are a bit leery of driving their MG that far might still make the trip, and so we could average about 50-55 miles per hour so the T series cars might come along. (Of course any hearty souls who wish to undertake this journey on their own have our blessing!)

This should be a great tour. We hope all of you will consider making the trip.

The Run Down ZOO

Cleaning out the aviary at a run-down zoo, the keeper finds two finches that have died of old age. He picks them up and places them in a sack. After cleaning the cage he puts the sack in his wheelbarrow and moves on to the next cage.

When he reaches the primate cage he finds two chimps who have also died of natural causes. "Waste not, want not," he says as he puts them in the sack with the finches.

Later at feeding time, he flips the dead animals from the sack, into the lions' cage.

"No!" roars the lion. "Not finch and chimps again!"

From the Presidential Garage

What a month this has been! I thought we were supposed to unwind and relax after the holidays. Not only have we been busy at our house but the clubs and their activities have kept us hopping, too.

The Last Friday Fish at Nehawka on January 26th brought out seventeen of the faithful, even though four inches of snow lay on the ground. It was good to see all of you after that big layover during the Holidays. Even the bar owner and staff were glad to see us (They must have short memories).

The weekend before we had so many show up at Her Majesty's Royal Nebraska Patrol Holiday Party at the Knolls Country Club I couldn't count them all.

Next up is Ice Cream on Thursday the 8th and Breakfast on the 11th. Also about that time, is John and Bev's Annual Football's - Over - It's - Too - Cold - to - Work - on - Cars - and - Too - Salty - to - Drive - and - We're - Bored - So - We - Might - As - Well - Have - A - Party Party. Check the dates and locations in your new full-color calendar. See you in the coming months!

Caring Presidential Tip of the Month Remember to bring flowers to your sweetie for St. Valentine's day!
