on the crusher. We have a chance for a mutually beneficial situation. If you are looking for something, give Dewey a call. We might get what we need, and he would get more than he could get from the crusher. His number is 402-331-6666.

"Who Are Those Guys Anyway? I Don't Know, but They are Very Good!"

‚ Paul Newman and Robert Redford, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
by Bob Shaw

There are generally around 70 members in the Flatwater Austin Healey (and other British Marques) Club. Despite the many different activities that we do, it is difficult for all to get to know everyone. This month we are featuring Don and Carla Petrick to help us get to know them a little better.

Don Petrick is not quite as old as dirt, but may have been here at the time fire was discovered. He was born in Oceanside, California, and arrived in Omaha with his parents when his father, a military man, was transferred to Nebraska. Don graduated from North High, the Marine Corps, during which time he did a stint in Vietnam, and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Don is in sales for Peachtree Windows, where he sells windows and patio doors.

Carla tells us she is much younger than Don. She is an Omaha girl from birth, attended high school at Notre Dame Academy and then went on to the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She was an elementary teacher until the children arrived (three in all) when she became a stay at home mom. She now works at Alley Poyner, and architectural firm, where she is the business manager. Don and Carla met in high school at a Junior

Achievement meeting, and then dated semi-steadily (with time out for Don's time in the Marines) until they married. They have been married for 29 years, and enjoy gardening.

The Petricks drive a black '65 B roadster which Don purchased from his uncle who owned a British Leyland dealership in Flint, Michigan. Don had saved $1500 while in the Military and wanted to buy a new TR 6 when he got out in 1970. His uncle told him that he couldn't buy the 6 for that price, but that he had a nice '65 B, the only used car on the lot, that he could sell for that amount. Don went to see the car and drove it home. It had 30,000 miles at the time. He and Carla took the car to California for their honeymoon. The car covered 4,000 miles and used 1 quart of oil on the trip. Thirty one years and 50,000 miles later, they have been refurbishing the old B in the past year, going through the engine and transmission. You may have an opportunity to meet the Petricks at Fish or at Breakfast. You will recognize them. They are the ones who are grinning a lot after driving their little British car.

What To Do With Stuff

by Jim Danielson

Jim Danielson (Past President and Founder) had a problem. A big problem. He had stuff, lots and lots of stuff. He had concession stuff...parents estate stuff....and of course car stuff. All of this stuff had to be put somewhere, so Jim put it in storage places around town. Three of them to be exact. The bill was a bunch. What to do about it ? Do the logical thing and get rid of the stuff. Are you kidding. Jim wants even more stuff. The next best thing to being logical is to have your OWN storage units. So now Jim has 62 of them. Need a place for stuff? Call him. Economy Storage 1440 S. 2nd. 465-4650.
