From the Presidential Garage

by Marvin Marshall

Marvin Marshall, Club PresidentMan, am I glad last year is over and done with! I hope if I'm around for the first year of the next century it won't bring as many surprises as this one did.

Some of the "usual band of suspects" and I went to the boat show in January. We lusted in our hearts for the sleek wooden classics on display and flirted with the beautiful fiberglass models with the big engines. Oh! To be half our age (well maybe a third). I arrived home to find that Sue had been in TWO car accidents. The first guy left after creaming the rear of the car (probably to go get his license and insurance?). Then, while Sue was standing there waiting for the police, a pregnant teen loses control and runs her down.

February and March were O.K. except I couldn't work on the LBCs nor Sue's house because I was trying to help my Sweetie recover. (Ain't I nice?)

April and May were spent much the same way and amongst the club activities, I was re-elected President. This is a good thing except I find it a lot harder to do when Sue is on the mend and not really focused on helping me run things. I even had to clean my own wire wheels for the Heartland show.

Now, June was a good month, more or less. I won the Heartland again but from the looks of a very nice red B, it will probably be my last. At least I
